BIO
Susy Randell is an artist from Corner Brook, NL - Canada who balances natural elements and imagery throughout her art, creating vibrant and bold final pieces. Her art often subtly addresses the complexities of contemporary social issues and she renders images to express metaphoric symbolism through aesthetically pleasing compositions. As a lifelong outdoor enthusiast, with Indigenous ancestry she incorporates elements of Ktaqmkuk (Newfoundland)’s unique and stunning wildlife into her art, adding her personal style to each piece. Susy achieved a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Memorial University - Grenfell with an emphasis on installation and video and completed two years of Craft and Design at Sheridan College in Oakville, Ontario with emphasis on Glass Studio work. She earned a Bachelor of Education through Memorial University and maintains an active teaching practice through community programs and public schools. In addition to educating, Susy is a free-lance graphic designer and actively engages in completing personal and community-based art projects. She is also a certified yoga, fitness, snowboard, and paddle board instructor as well as a Reiki natural healer. Like her life, Susy’s art direction is evolving and her art practice is intertwined in all elements of her life - not confined to a particular medium or process. This allows her to be adaptable with a variety of projects and proposals.
