Susy Randell is an artist from Corner Brook, NL - Canada who balances natural elements and imagery throughout her art, creating vibrant and bold final pieces. Her art often subtly addresses the complexities of contemporary social issues and she renders images to express metaphoric symbolism through aesthetically pleasing compositions. Susy is an outdoor enthusiast, and honours her Indigenous ancestry while she incorporates elements of Ktaqmkuk (Newfoundland)’s unique and stunning wildlife into her art, adding colour and excessive vibrancy. Susy achieved a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Memorial University - Grenfell with an emphasis on installation and video art and completed two years at Sheridan College in Oakville, Ontario with emphasis on Glass Sculpture. She earned a Bachelor of Education through Memorial University and maintains an active teaching practice through community programs and public schools. In addition to educating, Susy is a graphic designer and actively engages in completing personal and community-based art projects. Susy is a certified yoga, fitness, snowboard, and paddle board instructor as well as a Reiki healer. Her art practice is intertwined in all elements of her life - not confined to a particular medium or process. This allows her to be adaptable with a variety of projects and proposals. Her ambition is to create visuals to illuminate the boundless opportunities and unlimited potential in all things.
